On 23rd June,2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development organized a sensitization program for Calvary Methodist church on child rights and protection. The session utilized flashcards from the Child Protection (CP) toolkits to make the learning process interactive and engaging.
The congregation actively participated by sharing their thoughts, asking insightful questions, and contributing to discussions on key topics such as:

  1. The rights of children to education, health, and protection etc.
  2. The importance of reporting cases of abuse and neglect.
  3. How to identify and prevent child exploitation and harmful practices like child marriage and child labour.
The interaction created a safe space for the congregation to express their concerns and learn practical steps for safeguarding the rights of their wards. This program aims to remind parents and guardians of the rights of children and empower children to recognize and report issues affecting their well-being.
