All glory to the Almighty God for making today possible.
Today I commissioned 8 new WASH facilities across Tano North under the project: _“Strengthening WASH Systems to Improve Family Lives”_ – implemented by IRC Ghana in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Tano North Municipal Assembly.
Facilities commissioned:
- Akurakan Community – 1 Mechanized Borehole
- Tano Ano Community – 1 Mechanized Borehole + 1 Toilet Facility
- Susuanho R/C Cluster School– 1 Mechanized Borehole + 1 Toilet Facility
- Duayaw Nkwanta Islamic Basic School – 1 Mechanized Borehole + 1 Toilet Facility

What this means for our people:
– Clean, safe drinking water for over 4,000 residents and pupils
– Dignified sanitation facilities in schools to improve attendance, especially for our girls
– Reduced water-borne diseases and healthier families
During the commissioning, I issued a clear warning to community leaders, school authorities, and facility management teams: These projects must be protected and well maintained. The Assembly will work with water boards and school management to set up maintenance plans, but ownership must start with the communities.

I thank IRC Ghana and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their commitment to Tano North. Your investment in clean water and sanitation is an investment in human dignity.
To our Chiefs, Assembly Members, and residents: Let us all protect these facilities. When water flows and toilets are clean, our children learn better and our mothers spend less time fetching water. Tano North is rising, one community at a time. More WASH projects are in the pipeline
