In the month of October, the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, embarked on a sensitization program in four schools to address the growing concerns of early sex among school children in Tano North. The schools are Afrisipa Roman Catholic Basic School, Anglican Basic School D/N, African Faith Basic School
and Duayaw Nkwanta MA Basic School. Using flashcards from the Child Protection Toolkits, our team engaged students in an interactive sessions to educate them on the risks and consequences of early sexual activity.

Key topics covered include teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), emotional trauma, and the impact of early sex on education and future opportunities. The sessions aim to empower students to make informed decisions, practice self-control, and understand the importance of personal and reproductive health.
This initiative reflects our commitment to safeguarding children and ensuring their holistic development within a safe and supportive environment.
