On the 11th May, 2024, students at the Presbyterian Midwifery training School were educated on gender-based violence (GBV) with a focus on its causes, types, and impacts on individuals and communities. The program emphasized recognizing GBV in various forms, including physical, emotional, and economic abuse, as well as sexual violence. Training covered legal frameworks and policies addressing GBV, prevention strategies, and survivor-centered approaches for support and rehabilitation. Students were also equipped with practical skills for advocacy, awareness creation, and promoting gender equality to reduce violence and its social consequences.
