The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development in the Tano North Municipality recently organized an interactive sensitization program on Adolescent and Personal Hygiene for students in four public schools, from the 21st May – 23rd May, 2024 the names of the schools are Presbyterian Basic School- Tanoso, Roman Catholic Basic School – Tanoso, Presbyterian Basic School- Susuanso and Roman Catholic Basic School- Susuanso. The initiative, which aimed at educating adolescents on maintaining proper hygiene during this critical stage of their lives, saw active participation from both students and their teachers.

Facilitators employed flashcards from the Child Protection Toolkits to engage students in discussions, making the program lively and impactful. This approach encouraged open conversations on personal hygiene practices, fostering awareness and promoting good health habits among the youth. The department remains committed in empowering young people with the knowledge and tools needed for their well-being and development. Again, thanks to GHS staff who always avail themselves to help achieve the set goals and we will continue to collaborate with them.
