MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY SENSITIZATION PROGRAM

On the 29th May, 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, in collaboration with GHS through the ISS fund, organized a sensitization program on Menstrual Hygiene Day for African Faith Basic School. The event focused on educating female students, particularly at the JHS level, about menstrual hygiene and health.

As part of the program, sanitary pads were distributed to the students to support their menstrual health. A practical session was also conducted to demonstrate the proper way to fix pads into underwear, ensuring the students understood how to manage their periods safely and hygienically. The event emphasized breaking the stigma around menstruation while empowering young girls with knowledge and resources.
The teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the honour bestowed upon them and conveyed their appreciation to us.
