RADIO HEALTH TALK ON GENERAL SANITATION IN THE MUNICIPALITY

On 31st October 2025, The Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) held a radio health talk on Charity FM to educate the public on the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment and to encourage active participation in sanitation activities within the municipality.
Key issues discussed included the current state of sanitation, challenges faced by the Assembly in maintaining cleanliness, planned initiatives for improvement, roles of EHOs and Zoomlion, proper waste disposal practices, and enforcement of sanitation by-laws.
The program recorded high listener participation through phone-ins. Some callers expressed concerns about poor refuse collection and requested more education on waste segregation.
As an outcome, public awareness on environmental hygiene increased, with many callers pledging their support to the Assembly’s sanitation initiatives.
The EHOs also assured the public of intensified monitoring and community engagement.
In conclusion, the radio talk served as an effective platform to educate and mobilize the public towards achieving a cleaner and healthier municipality.
